Bottega Veneta serial number checker

Read the four-digit year on supported older tags and classify later originality-code formats.

Spaces, dots, and dashes are fine. Manual checks run in your browser. Photo reads log your IP and usage to enforce daily limits; photos are not stored.

Example: 192931 VFFA1 1000 2007

Read code from a product photo

JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF, up to 10 MiB. AuthenticityHouse forwards the photo to its OCR provider and does not store it.

Reference only—not an authenticity verdict
A plausible date code can appear on a counterfeit, and an unusual or unreadable code does not by itself make an item counterfeit. Use the result as one clue alongside construction, materials, provenance, and expert review.

How the Bottega Veneta rule works

Some older Bottega Veneta tags contain a four-digit year. Later originality and numeric codes do not expose a public date.

Read it in three passes
Follow the positions in order before interpreting the result.
  1. 1

Copy the complete tag line so the older and later layouts can be distinguished.

  2. 2

On supported late-2000s to early-2010s layouts, read the documented four-digit group as the year.

  3. 3

Classify letter-wrapped originality codes and later numeric codes without assigning a date.

Where to look

Look for a narrow, often raw-edged fabric tag inside the lining or pocket and photograph every line before transcribing it.

Know the limit

Only the supported older layout exposes a year; later codes should not be forced into the same rule.

These rules explain documented marking patterns. They do not prove that an item is authentic.

Bottega Veneta codes, era by era

A limited older Bottega Veneta tag layout prints a four-digit year directly. Later originality and single-line identifiers have no published date conversion.

01Observed pattern

Tag layouts by broad period

Evidence is strongest for multi-line tags seen around the late 2000s and early 2010s; the transition to single-line markings varied.

02Observed pattern

Read the older multi-line tag

The year is the explicit four-digit group after EPEV; the surrounding blocks describe other product attributes.

Published evidence for exact start and end years is limited. A plausible layout match should remain an observed convention rather than a universal rule.

03Observed pattern

Location and limitations

Look for a narrow raw-edged fabric tag sewn into the lining or an interior pocket, often with brand and origin on one face and the code on the reverse.

  • No responsible public factory-country mapping was found.
  • Some small leather goods can use a different marking or no comparable fabric tag.
  • Later single-line codes should never be forced through the older printed-year rule.

Sources and method

Brand and archive material is preferred where it exists. Public decoding tables are identified as compiled references or observed patterns so their uncertainty stays visible.
