Official Burberry material supports two narrower facts: the company changed its name from Burberrys to Burberry in 1999, and clothing care information belongs on the woven product label.

Compare Burberrys or Burberry wording with the claimed era, but allow for transition context and never use wording alone as a verdict.
Keep the full woven product label in view when recording a garment code so origin, composition, and care context are not lost.
