How the Coach rule works

Supported Coach creed numbers from 1994 onward combine a month letter, year digits, plant token, and style number.

Read it in three passes

Follow the positions in order before interpreting the result.

Map the opening letter to a month; the sequence skips the letter I.

Read the following one or two digits as the supported year.

Keep the printed dash: the following one- to three-character plant code and final style digits are separate groups.

Find the stamped creed patch or creed label inside the bag and copy the complete number beneath the text.

Know the limit

Pre-1994 and some later creed layouts do not contain a dependable public date key.

These rules explain documented marking patterns. They do not prove that an item is authentic.

Plant letters or numbers are internal tokens without a safe public country chart. Use the country written in the creed rather than inventing a plant location.

The date stays at the beginning even when the plant token or style number grows.

Sources and method

Brand and archive material is preferred where it exists. Public decoding tables are identified as compiled references or observed patterns so their uncertainty stays visible.
