Omega serial number checker

Use the complete general or Speedmaster range table and flag references or sequence gaps.

Returns a yearOptional photo OCR
Check your serial number
Spaces, dots, and dashes are fine. Manual checks run in your browser. Photo reads log your IP and usage to enforce daily limits; photos are not stored.

Example: 24069123

Read code from a product photo

JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF, up to 10 MiB. AuthenticityHouse forwards the photo to its OCR provider and does not store it.

Reference only—not an authenticity verdict
A plausible date code can appear on a counterfeit, and an unusual or unreadable code does not by itself make an item counterfeit. Use the result as one clue alongside construction, materials, provenance, and expert review.

How the Omega rule works

Omega's long-running numeric sequence can be compared with milestone years. A dotted model reference is a different number and should not be dated as a serial.

Read it in three passes
Follow the positions in order before interpreting the result.
  1. 1

Use the plain production serial rather than a dotted model or calibre reference.

  2. 2

Choose the general table or the separate Speedmaster table after identifying the collection.

  3. 3

Match the complete number to a published band and keep the result approximate.

Where to look

Depending on the period, the serial may be on the movement or exterior case. Use a watchmaker if inspection requires opening the case.

Know the limit

Collection-specific sequences, especially Speedmaster charts, can differ from the generic milestone table.

These rules explain documented marking patterns. They do not prove that an item is authentic.

Full reference

Omega codes, era by era

Omega's numeric movement and case serials support a broad chronology, but public tables are milestone guides rather than a continuous manufacturer-issued calendar. Collection-specific sequences—especially Speedmaster references—can differ.

01Compiled reference

Serial, reference, and calibre are different numbers

Use an undotted production serial for this lookup. A dotted or grouped code can be a case reference or calibre designation instead.

Location and confirmation

Older serials commonly appear on the movement, while many later watches carry an external serial. Opening a case is not a casual lookup step.

  • Use a watchmaker when the movement number is not externally visible.
  • Compare the serial estimate with the reference, calibre, case construction, and documented service history.
  • An estimated production year can precede the retail sale date.

Sources and method

Brand and archive material is preferred where it exists. Public decoding tables are identified as compiled references or observed patterns so their uncertainty stays visible.
