How the Prada rule works

Prada uses small numeric quality-control tags and separate alphanumeric article codes. Neither publishes a production date.

Read it in three passes

Follow the positions in order before interpreting the result.

Identify whether the marking is a one- to three-digit interior tag or a longer alphanumeric article code.

Keep the tag's physical location with the transcription; the number alone has limited meaning.

Use cards, receipts, and official digital product records as separate evidence rather than converting either code into a year.

Prada does not expose one typed serial that converts to a manufacturing date. Distinguishing the QA tag, article number, card, and current electronic identifier prevents false readings.

RFID, NFC, and current digital records

Prada Group reported product-wide RFID tagging from January 2022, while its current FAQ describes NFC and Aura functionality on supported products.

On leather goods the NFC element can be near the outer logo, a buckle, an internal origin label, or on a dedicated card, depending on the product.
Electronic identification does not create a public typed serial-to-date lookup.
A short QA number should not be expanded into an unsupported factory-country claim.

Sources and method

Brand and archive material is preferred where it exists. Public decoding tables are identified as compiled references or observed patterns so their uncertainty stays visible.
